AI Character for GPT

A prompt library, not another model

AI Character for GPT is a Moonlander Lab Chrome extension that provides preset characters, search, and custom character prompts. The developer's Chrome Web Store listing shows an August 2024 update and still includes older chatbot naming. That establishes what was published, not that every integration works with today's interfaces.

Test the behavior before adopting it

Try a non-sensitive prompt in a fresh browser profile. Compare the extension's inserted instruction with a saved text snippet: does it preserve the task, constraints, and requested output, or merely add a personality? Ask the same factual question with and without the character. Confidence or tone is not an accuracy improvement.

Confirm the inserted text is visible and editable before sending it. If the button is missing, check current compatibility rather than granting additional permissions to an unrelated replacement extension.

Review the privacy discrepancy

The listing's overview says it does not access user data, while its privacy section declares handling personally identifiable information. Resolve that discrepancy through the linked policy and developer before using confidential conversations. This directory has not inspected the extension's code or verified its data practices. For a few reusable prompts, a local text-snippet tool avoids adding another browser extension.
